Consider Roisin's story.
Roisin sits on the edge of her bed, clutching a stack of overdue bills, her heart heavy with worry. The sound of her children playing in the next room brings a bittersweet smile to her face. She wishes she could give them more – more than just the basics, more than just getting by.
Roisin remembers a poster she saw at the local shop for SVP. Her initial reaction was resistance; after all, she’d always been the one to help others, never imagining she’d need assistance herself. But as the days grew colder and her situation more dire, she finally decided to take the first step. Nervously, she picks up the phone and dials the number for SVP. On the other end, a kind voice reassures her that she’s not alone, that help is available. She breathes a sigh of relief for the first time in a long time.
With countless families and individuals like Roisin struggling to survive, more people are reaching out to SVP for help.
