Founded in 1924, St. Patrick’s Conference St. Vincent de Paul in Trim is commemorating 100 years of dedicated service to those in need in the Trim area and its surroundings this year. The conference plans to mark this significant milestone with a series of events over the coming months, with details currently being finalised.
The inaugural event of these celebrations took place on Thursday, August 1st, at the Vincent’s store on Loman Street. During the event, a specially commissioned parchment was presented to the shop manager, Michael Murran, by the Conference President, Jimmy Fegan. This parchment serves as a tribute to deceased members and honours both past and present volunteers of the shop. It will be permanently displayed in the shop as a reminder of their invaluable contributions. Those present at the handover included Louise Bridge (Shop Volunteer), Magdalena Zac-Guzik (Shop CE Sales Assistant), Michael Murran (Shop Manager), Jimmy Fegan (SVP Conference President), Michael McHugh (SVP Conference Member), and Allison Walton (SVP Conference Member and Shop Volunteer).
This commemoration not only celebrates a century of service but also highlights the enduring spirit of volunteerism and community support that St. Patrick’s Conference St. Vincent de Paul has fostered throughout its history. The upcoming events promise to further honour this legacy and engage the community in meaningful ways.
