As we emerged from the recent severe weather the sun shone brightly as a young Carrigaline man won a new Ford Focus car in SVP’s Annual Car Draw which has generated an amazing €251,181. This money will be used to assist those in need throughout the winter months ahead. The draw took place on 15th January 2025 at the Cork City Ford showrooms, Forge Hill, Cork where Lord Mayor Cllr. Dan Boyle drew the First Prize and rang the lucky winner - Séan Kennedy Jr., Carrigaline, Co. Cork.
There were six other lucky winners of cash prizes, The Bishops’ Prize of €1,500 (supported by the Bishop of Cork & Ross, Bishop of Kerry and Bishop of Cloyne Prize was won by Ger Conroy, Co. Laois. We want to say a special thank you to the three Bishops for their generous support every year.
Other winners included: Maria McGeever, Marian Creedon, Gemma Robins, Breid McCole and Alan Mc Cormack.
Speaking at the handover of the car to the lucky winner at Cork City Ford Showrooms by the Lord Mayor of Cork Cllr. Dan Boyle, Mary Frances Behan South West Regional President said “she is most grateful for the generosity of the Cork and Kerry public for their support of the Annual Car Draw which is now in its 24th year, and said the funds would help offer a lifeline to struggling families and individuals in the region.
A special word of sincere thanks to our Car Draw Ambassador Francis Brennan and to our suppliers and sponsors throughout 2024, due to their generosity, we have raised a staggering €251,181 this year”.
