Your Compassion Brings Hope For A Better Future

“My children and I have been in a hotel room for over two years now. We lost our home after we couldn’t afford the mortgage repayments. We tried to fight the banks, but it was no good.

Being here over Christmas is very hard. We’re on the first floor and right now it’s party season, the music often belts out until one or two in the morning. It’s hard to keep the kids asleep so they’re okay for school in the morning. Plus, I’m trying to study for exams so I can get a job.

The SVP volunteers have been very good to us. They’re helping with things like food and schoolbooks so the kids can go to school. It’s such a relief to have someone on the end of the phone who listens and cares about your problems.
