5 ways your support helps

When you give to SVP your donation is always put to hard work.

Here are five ways that your donation helps people in your community:

1. Food

When families find themselves with no food in the fridge, SVP is here to help. Through our home visitation program, our volunteers in communities across the country provide food and food vouchers to those who need it most.

2. Fuel

The winter can be a difficult time for those who are struggling to make ends meet. We provide practical support to make sure that people can stay warm and do not sleep in the cold at night by helping with heating and energy bills.

The benefits of education can last a lifetime. But to many families school and education costs can be a huge burden. With your support we can provide assistance with school books, uniforms and travel costs. We also offer education bursaries & grants to those who are struggling with the costs of education.

We have six resource centres across the country that provide a safe, welcoming place for people to learn and grow, to develop new skills, to meet others and make new friends and to have a positive impact in people's lives. Donations help us to provide facilities like homework clubs, social clubs for the elderly and childcare facilities.

With thanks to our supporters, SVP provides services to over 300 people experiencing homelessness on a nightly basis. We have emergency homeless services for men in Cork, Limerick, Waterford, Wexford, Carlow, Ennis, Letterkenny and Longford along with two specialist services for women and children in Mayo and Longford.
